About CampOC
Camp OC Independently Operated Camps In A Cooperative Agreement With Our Host
Campus Of Oklahoma Christian University
Camp Impact, Zenith & Cornerstone are independently operated under a cooperative
agreement with our host campus of Oklahoma Christian University.
Camp Impact
In the fall of 1991 two youth ministers who had been directing a summer camp
session in southern Oklahoma made the decision to approach Oklahoma Christian
University about being the host to a new camp. Kent Risley & Richard Shough
along with several other Youth Ministers from Texas, Oklahoma & Kansas planned
the first Camp Impact on the campus of Oklahoma Christian in 1992.
Camp Impact is designed especially for 4th-6th grade students. For more than a
decade Camp Impact has been influencing young lives and is dedicated to
IMPACTING young lives with the love of Christ. Thousands of students have been
campers at Camp Impact and many have returned in recent years to be part of our
great camp staff.

Zenith
In 2000 a group of youth ministers who had been doing camp together for several
years began Zenith. Zenith... "the highest place in the heavens". Zenith is a
camp designed to encourage and challenge high school students in their spiritual
walk. "
Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord…" Micah 4:2
The word "zenith" is defined as "the highest point reached in the heavens by a
celestial body."
For many campers, counselors, and ministers who experience this incredible week
of camp, it is one of the "highest points" of our entire year! It is a chance to
"go up on the mountain of the Lord" and encounter God in a powerful way.
Throughout the Bible, people who encountered the Lord in a personal way were
changed forever. You can not stand in the presence of the Almighty and go away
unaffected. If you allow Him, He will touch your heart and your life…and you
will never be the same!
Zenith has a unique leadership. It's leadership comes from within. Every Youth
Minister on the staff has input into planning. The CampOC board makes executive
decisions, but the essence of Zenith is planned by a great them of passionate
Youth Ministers from over six states.
Zenith Camp Themes:
2000 "Zenith: The Highest Place!"
2001 "Reign In Me"
2002 "Never The Same"
2003 "Above All"
2004 "Finding God"
2005 "It's Good To be NEAR God"
2006 "Mercy"
2007 "Hope"
2008 "Delight"
Camp Cornerstone
In the early '90's several Youth Ministers were looking for a camp experience
which focused on the needs of students in middle school.
Camp Cornerstone began at Pettijohn Springs Christian Camp in 1992. With
leadership changes, it ended in 1995 at Pettijohn Springs. There was still a
great need for a camp solely focused on ministering to middle school students.
So in 1996, Camp Cornerstone moved to Oklahoma Christian and quickly became the
feeder camp for Camp Impact graduates.
The Youth Ministry staff plans each camp season. Camp Cornerstone directors
include Richard Shough, Kent Risley, Randy Roper and Tim Lewis.
In 2005, Wes Encalade joined Richard Shough directing Camp Cornerstone.
Cornerstone Camp Themes:
2000 "Got Faith?"
2001 "What Are You Looking At?"
2002 "Ground Zero: Take Me To The Cross"
2003 "Lost & Found"
2004 "These Are The Days"
2005 "Cross Walk"
2006 "Owned" Impact,
2007 "Never The Same"
Camp Impact, Cornerstone & Zenith find a unique connection in that they are all
hosted on the beautiful campus of Oklahoma Christian. Most importantly along
with Oklahoma Christian University they all share a common mission of sharing
Christ with young people.
